This year, we’re turning the clock back a decade to present a night of covers honouring the biggest artist of the 80s: Michael Jackson!

19 Calgary acts will put their own spins on Michael’s biggest hits, from "Off The Wall" through to "Earth Song." Sled Island presents the third installment of cult film series Video Vulture Live! at Good Luck Bar (207 12th Ave. SW) on Sunday, September 27!
This month’s pick is 1975 Chinese superhero flick Infra-Man. It’s free, and we’ll be serving free popcorn!

Made in Japan chronicles the career of Tomi Fujiyama, a Japanese country music sensation who reached the height of her success in 1964 performing in Nashville with Johnny Cash. Now in her 70s, Fujiyama is seeking a comeback in America. This documentary captures her resurgence in the time of new Nashville, where talent doesn’t always beat out popularity and commercial success.
Tomi Fujiyama and Director Josh Bishop will be in attendance at both screenings!
