Slut Prophet started off as the lo-fi recording project of frontperson, Audrey, but now comes to life as a four-piece post-punk powerhouse on stage. Audrey’s off-kilter vocal style is like a mix of Jonathan Richman’s conversationalism and Kathleen Hanna’s sneer, often using uncomfortable lyrics as a weapon to unsettle. This, mixed with the band’s malfunctioning take on punk, makes for a strange and unforgettable live show.
