Marc Schneider once said that "half the clubs in Berlin are made of concrete and steel. The other half is built out of driftwood and glitter." Calgary ain’t exactly Berlin, but we have our own dose of driftwood and glitter in the form of DJ Dine & Dash’s lo-fi house productions. There’s a certain aesthetic jankiness to the fidelity of his joy-ridden, vocal-sample heavy tunes that reinforces the real point of dance music: to have fun and stop looking in the mirror already.
