Etran de L'Aïr

Agadez, Niger

Etran de L’Aïr (or “stars of the Aïr region”) began life as a wedding band in Niger in the ‘90s. Their hypnotic riffs and sun-tinged harmonies quickly caught the attention of Portland record label, Sahel Sounds. The band has since dropped three studio albums, singing entirely in Tamasheq and bringing pan-African blues rock flavour to the masses.
