There’s always been a touch of shoegaze heaviness in Witch Victim’s droning psych jams, but latest single “Sleep Coda” goes all in with a luscious wall of distortion and dreamily chanted wordplay. Icy cold post-punk can be warmed by blazingly warm fuzz rock, and this quintet of Calgary scene champs is ready to start the fire.
