While WHOOP-Szo moves through styles as disparate as metal and folk or pop and grunge, there’s an addictive thread of psychedelia and enthusiasm that keeps their sound from becoming anachronistic. It’s this no-rules approach to genre and boundless cheeky energy that landed them on a bill with Sled Island 2018 guest curator Deerhoof in the past, and that keeps us excited for their future.
