Speed Strips’ recordings and live performances are two sides of the same delightfully greasy coin. On record, they make longform synth jams with the oozy pulp of low-budget sci-fi, with some ‘80s cop movie guitar rave-ups thrown in for good measure. While that can bring to mind the conscious camp of genres like vaporwave, their stage show reveals them to be unhinged party animals with an affinity for maximalism.
