Having already opened for Lightning Bolt and Protomartyr at past editions of Sled Island, it comes as a bit of a shock that May 2018 marks the release of the first-ever full-length by Burnt Shrines. That said, the noisy psych band has built their reputation on being elusive. They keep a corrosive tension in their plodding rhythm section and gloom-laden guitars, only delivering climax when the moment is absolutely right.
