Jolie Bird wraps objects. Although simple in technique, the careful wrapping of objects in thread requires a great deal of time and patience to perform. When ordinary, recognizable objects are preserved within a new fibrous skin, a metaphysical transformation occurs. They become fragile, sensual works removed from and yet affirming the familiar realm of the everyday. Now for the first time, these seemingly precious objects are installed outdoors where perhaps they will deteriorate or be removed, stolen or vandalized.
