No one should be surprised that Dan Bockner’s new band, Operators, was one of the most heavily buzzed bands at this year’s CMW in Toronto. The ex-Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs frontman has developed a knack for impossibly crunchy, immediately dancey electronic rock that’s not afraid to preen and sneer as it shows off. Dirty basslines and swooning synthesizers get down and nasty as the Operators work their magic.
