Jacques Greene (2014)
Philippe Aubin-Dionne's capabilities grew from the jubilant dance music scene in Montreal, but that doesn't quite explain his warm but deconstructed style. Now referred to as Jacques Greene,
the thoughtful part-time graphic designer is one of the leading examples of artists bred and informed by the internet. Much like the dichotomy between his analogue fixation and the necessity of using software to move forward, Greene is a product of both his immediate surroundings and the global online community. Moving on from bass music under the name Hovatron onto his current moniker, Greene makes a colourful melange of R&B, house and techno that feels as home on a dance floor as it does coming through headphones during a lonely walk home.
