Nate Waters and Devin Friesen’s minimalist improvisations are an intersection of experience. Waters’ jazz and musicology training mingle with Friesen’s work as an experimentalist (Shaking Box Music, Bitter Fictions), resulting in music greater than the sum of its parts. Playing off one another, they feed a peculiar, free moving and copacetic tension within a supple free jazz style.
