Strange Relations VIII: Milling Hops & A God-Fearing Pops

TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary and Sled Island present Milling Hops & A God-Fearing Pops, the eighth installment of Strange Relations. Part intellectual battle royale and part anti-symposium, Strange Relations features bilateral lectures on unrelated topics, inviting experts from different fields to speak about what they know best. Pairing Calgary based artist and writer J.D Mersault with Big Rock Brew Master Connor Patrick, Strange Relations VIII tasks the audience to find links between the papacy and the brewing process through the questions they ask.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
J.D. Mersault is a writer from Canada. His art texts have been published most recently by the Art Gallery of Alberta and Untitled Art Society, and his art criticism and memoir have appeared internationally in The American Reader. His second book, a novel in Onegin verse, Maresia, is forthcoming in summer 2015.

Connor Patrick is the Brewing Lead Hand at Big Rock Brewery, based in Calgary, Alberta. He has worked passionately in the craft brewing industry for nearly ten years.
