Metro Cinema and the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society are proud to present the latest edition of the annual Prairie Tales tour of short, Alberta-made films and videos. Each year, Prairie Tales gathers a selection of some of the best short works made by Albertan media artists during the preceding eighteen months and assembles a feature-length showcase for their exhibition. Prairie Tales’ twelfth annual program of live-action, animated and experimental works features the following fourteen works:

A frustrated love story in experimental form about astronauts and rocket ships,

spaces between people and the human desire for closeness.

An animated fantasia taking the human heart as its theme offers a wild ride

Prarie Tales is an annual touring collection of Albertan short film and video regularly including work from the shining lights of the Alberta media arts scene. In association with screenings of the program, Prairie Tales also sponsors workshops, talks and other appearances by the artists whose work is represented in the the anthology.
